Artist's Description
This out of focus pink on black close-up of mallow blossoms was actually taken in my back yard garden ca 1998. I tried this flower out one summer but I don't think I grew it again. I also think this was called a rose mallow and is related to the large flowered hibiscus. It blooms summer through fall. The scripture on the photo is taken from a 1913 KJV Bible once owned by my great, great uncle John.
About Mike McBrayer
My parents gave me my 1st camera when I turned 10 in 1965. It was a Kodak Instamatic 104, which I still own. My Dad had been an Air Force photographer and instilled in me my love for photography. I later took up oil painting, but my schedule for both photography and painting has been rather limited in recent years. I went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture and Horticulture. I worked in a wholesale greenhouse operation for 2 years and then general retail sales for 20 years. I became a small business owner of the Corner Stone II in 1999 which I closed in 2009. Today, I do part time office management as an independent contractor.
